Meet The Wooblers’ Illustrator - Tammie J. Walters

Tammie J. Walters studied art at the University of North Texas (UNT) where she and Laura Gray Bridges met and were college roommates. Tammie continued her artistic journey designing and painting signs, billboards, and murals. She then chose a path in environmental science, working in that field until 2021 when she retired. When Gray asked if she would illustrate her book, The Wooblers, Tammie jumped on the opportunity. She lives in Sanger, Texas, with her husband of 35 years and their three cats. Tammie is a member of the Texas Master Naturalist Elm Fork Chapter, editor/design editor of the chapter’s monthly newsletter, and the Water Quality Project Manager. She loves drawing, painting, graphic design, being outdoors absorbing nature, and conducting water quality sampling in area creeks.
